This is your chance to join a winning team. NFI Parts (a division of the New Flyer Industries Group (NFI) and Motor Coach Industries (MCI), an industry leader in Charter and Luxury Touring Coaches, is seeking a Business Development Director to join our team.

The successful Business Development Director will identify, explore and execute growth opportunities within the NFI Parts organization including new product development, business combination analysis and private label branding.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all laws and regulations (federal, state and local)
  • Develop and maintain strategic roadmap coordinating with the other business units within the NFI Group
  • Identify, evaluate and pursue business acquisition opportunities
  • VMI Opportunities – coordinating and driving opportunities with customers
  • Develop new products – identify and develop opportunities. Create/maintain a growth and strategic opportunity roadmap
  • Develop market date – business cases for products and programs, quarterly update to market conditions and create/maintain a competitive map with NFI Part’s win strategy in specific market segments as well as related internet research
  • Program evaluation – business cases and presentations for mid-life opportunities
  • Large-scale business evaluation – i.e. internal manufacturing, electric bus opportunities, etc.
  • Grant writing – identification of special funding opportunities and partnering with customers to secure funding and sourcing of NFI Parts
  • Responsible to ensure all key controls (ICFR Internal controls) identified under their area of responsibility are designed and operating as outlined in the internal controls over Financial Reporting
  • Travel 20-25% a year

Educational / Experience Preferences

  • Post-secondary education (College or University Degree or completion of continuing education programs such as CIM, Business Degree or MBA) a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years in strategy/business development role with experience in M&A diligence and evaluation within a manufacturing space
  • Experience in market analysis in a direct business to business market
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Availability to travel (including international) approximately 25%
  • Ability to provide leadership in a dynamic and time sensitive work environment
  • Above average management skills with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem Solver with strong analytical and computer skills
  • Strong sense of urgency with a hands on approach
